sharing the unfolding work of the Spirit
Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming people come in all shapes and sizes with a great variety of outlooks and ways of living. This website therefore only offers some particular ways into deeper understanding and life together - though some links to helpful practical or wider information and support are also included. The main purpose here is to act as a point of reference for the gradually increasing number of Christian spiritual resources which are available, enhancing awareness and education, and sharing some of the insights and struggles of my own journey. It most certainly does not seek to proselytise any of my transgender sisters and brothers who have been so horribly treated by the Christian Church. Rather I honour that pain and the amazing courage and love which has triumphed over it. It is instead a contribution to dispelling that kind of cruel darkness which can harm us both from the outside and from within - and a signpost to further and greater light. I hope that it may be updated frequently to keep pace with new developments and may be a small contribution to the greater flourishing of us all.
contributing to our shared journeys
This website does not attempt to be comprehensive, nor do I necessarily personally agree with every word or direction of others to which I link (and it certainly does not pretend to be any kind of authoritative statement of the college or diocese within which I work). It is also my intention to write more deeply on these matters in the days to come. For, although this should not be imposed upon us as an obligation by others, some trans people need to be making visible our gifts and healing where we can. So I hope this may therefore be of assistance to others in journeying onward. On all sides we are all well aware of the challenges with which, willingly or unwillingly, Christians and others are engaging as part of the sea-change of understanding of these matters. We are in a (sometimes quite uncomfortable) process of learning together, but thankfully there are pathways opening up which offer us beautiful transforming light instead of merely consuming heat. May God therefore bless us all in this process of divine love, renewal and creativity.
