The great religious themes exist because they speak directly our of and into our human existence. So, whist religious institutions may fail us in different ways, the power of scripture, story and spiritual practice to name, frame and renew our experience is always there. Among the resources which therefore empower trans* people of spirit are biblical ones like the book of Job, the Psalms, and the Passion and Resurrection of Christ. Re-reading them 'with transgender eyes' can bring both wonderful consolation and profound liberation....Try it!
